Our regular film awards (see below) are taking a break this year.

We are optimistic and hope that next year we will once again celebrate your and our URSULAs.

The Jury Award

Each year a three-member jury decides which of the jury films selected from the programme group of the Film Festival should receive the 5,000 Euro Jury award. The Film Festival tries to ensure that the jury is as diverse as possible. Generally, the director of the film which won the Jury Award in the previous year, a person from another international queer film festival and a film-critic and/or academic from Germany are invited to participate.

5th QueerScope Debut Film award 2020

The QueerScope Prize is jointly awarded by 17 German QueerScope festivals to the best queer debut film.  QueerScope is a union of independent German queer film festivals that yearly honours a debut feature film

The chosen winner of the QUEERSCOPE DEBUT FILM AWARD 2020 is "Uferfrauen - Lesbisches L(i)eben in der DDR" by director Barbara Wallbraun. We are especially happy about this, because this film won our audience award for documentaries, the DOKUKLA, here in Hamburg last year!

The award will be presented and shown on Saturday, 17 October 2020, 18:00 h at the PERLEN - Queer Film Festival in Hannover. So if you missed it here in Hamburg: check it out there!

In 2019, the QueerScope Debut Film Award went to THE GARDEN LEFT BEHIND.
